A well planned class session helps reduce faculty stress while increasing student ability to recognize and meet learning objectives. Whether planning a discussion-based seminar, an activity-focused lab, or a two-hour lecture, a carefully structured and organized class session will enhance the learning experience. In this online mini-workshop, participants will learn the principles of quick and effective class planning, with time for questions and discussion at the end.

This webinar is part of the Center for Teaching and Learning’s online mini-workshop series focused on foundational teaching skills, Teaching@IUPUI. Designed for new faculty, adjunct faculty, graduate students, and those looking for a refresher on good teaching practices, the workshops are short, with a brief presentation interspersed with opportunities for interaction and questions. Grounded in current research, the workshops address various teaching topics and provide participants with strategies and resources to make instruction more effective, efficient, and enjoyable. Sessions are scheduled with the time of semester in mind, to keep topics relevant for faculty needs at that time.
NOTE: The Teaching@IUPUI workshop series is held online using Adobe Connect. You will need working speakers to hear the presenter. It is strongly recommended that you have a high-speed Internet connection to participate in this session. Registered participants will receive an email with instructions for viewing and a link to the Adobe Connect meeting room a day or two before the event.
