Held to honor and celebrate the successes of the 2016 Curriculum Enhancement Grant (CEG) awardees, the 2017 CEG Symposium will feature a keynote address titled The University as a Learning Community by Michael Morrone, director of the Faculty Academy on Excellence in Teaching (FACET), senior lecturer of business communication in the Kelley School of Business, and faculty in the Liberal Arts Management Program at IUB. A reception and poster presentations by 2016 CEG recipients will follow the keynote address.
The purpose of the CEG initiative is to provide faculty with support, time, and resources to implement projects designed to improve student learning and success. The 2018 CEG Request for Proposals will be available at the symposium. Click here for more information on the CEG initiative and the 2016 awardees and their projects.
Attending the CEG symposium is especially recommended to faculty who may be interested in submitting proposals for CEG funding in the future, but all faculty are encouraged to attend.

Welcome and Introductions: 2:15 - 2:30 p.m.
Keynote Address: The University as a Learning Community, Michael Morrone, 2:30 - 3:45 p.m.
Description: When we pursue teaching excellence, we engage in a wide range of activities: private, informal teaching activities; scholarly teaching; sharing about teaching; and formal, systematic and publicly shared Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. The interaction during this session will help you leave with a vision for next steps in your teaching career, regardless of your current teaching and SoTL experiences, and a community to help you successfully take those next steps.
About the Keynote Speaker: Michael Morrone is the Director of the Faculty Academy on Excellence in Teaching (FACET), Senior Lecturer of Business Communication in the Kelley School of Business, and Faculty in the Liberal Arts Management Program at IUB. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. Co-editor of Quick Hits: Teaching and Learning with Canvas [publicly available through Canvas] and Quick Hits: Teaching and Learning with Technology (published by IU Press). He is co-author of Strategic Business Writing (published by IU Press).
