CTL Assistant Director Tom Janke Leaving IUPUI
Tom Janke, Assistant Director, IUPUI Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL), has announced he is leaving IUPUI to assume the role of Director of the Center for Academic Technology at Butler University. Tom’s last day with us will be Tuesday, January 19th.
During his nearly fifteen-year tenure with the CTL Tom has proven himself an invaluable colleague in supporting instructional technology, including guiding faculty through their transition to both Oncourse and Canvas (non-trivial tasks, to be sure!) In addition to these types of major technology initiatives, Tom has also consistently shared his leadership and knowledge on a wide variety of other projects, not just within the CTL but across all the teaching centers, UITS, and other campus-specific and university-wide groups. Tom has also served as a Co-PI on an NSF funded project to develop cyber Peer-Led Team Learning (cPLTL) -- a cyber adaptation of PLTL -- and has made several presentations at the local and national level on this topic.
His collegiality and great sense of humor will be missed.
Please join us for a farewell open house in his honor at the CTL on Tuesday, January 19th from 3 - 5 p.m. The CTL is located within the IUPUI University Library, room 1125. For more information please call (317) 274-1300.
