Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

The IUPUI Center for Teaching and Learning fosters diversity, equity and inclusion in teaching and learning, and advocates for welcoming educational climates across campus. Toward these ends, we

  • promote and advocate for inclusive and equitable teaching practices for all learners in all learning environments across campus.
  • welcome, value, respect, and celebrate all instructors and their students.
  • support the development of instructors in all roles and ranks through responsive programming and consultations at key points in their career trajectories.
  • build and sustain community through our collaborative work with individual instructors, communities of practice, and institutional initiatives.
  • strive to create and sustain a campus-wide educational development environment that welcomes and engages all instructors through our events, webinars, programs, services, consultations, and resources.

These ongoing efforts ensure that all CTL work embodies our commitment to DEI values and aspirations and supports the goals articulated in the CTL’s DEI Strategic Plan that was created as a part of a campus-wide initiative.

DEI Strategic Plan

The CTL has consistently increased its commitment to addressing diversity-, equity-, and inclusion-related (DEI) issues in teaching and learning and professional development. We are actively working to further develop our expertise as a unit, strengthen our DEI professional development offerings, and broaden and deepen DEI conversations and engagement on our campus.
