This half day workshop will have participants exploring ways to implement cyber peer-led learning (cPLTL). Attendees will learn about the essential components of Peer-Led Team Learning and how the approach was "retooled" by a team led by Pratibha Varma-Nelson at IUPUI for the online environment. Furthermore, attendees will experience a mock cPLTL workshop in which they will gain technical skill using Adobe Connect, multiple web cams and microphones.
cPLTL is the “cyber” evolution of Peer-Led Team Learning (PLTL) to an online format. PLTL is a model of teaching that preserves the lecture and replaces recitation in science courses with a weekly two-hour session. During these interactive sessions (workshops), six to eight students work as a team to solve carefully constructed problems under the guidance of a peer leader.
A light lunch will be provided.
