Varma-Nelson, Wilson have article included in JRST
CTL Executive Director and Professor of Chemistry Pratibha Varma-Nelson, along with a team of researchers from IUPUI and Loyola University Maryland, are currently featured in the Journal of Research in Science Teaching. Their article, entitled "Replicating Peer-Led Team Learning in Cyberspace: Research, Opportunities, and Challenges. Of 32 articles received for consideration only five were published in this special edition. Co-authors were Sarah Beth Wilson, Graduate Assistant, Chemistry and Chemical Biology, IUPUI School of Science; Julianna Banks, School of Education; Lin Zhu, Senior Lecturer, Academic Advisor, Chemistry and Chemical Biology, IUPUI School of Science; and Joshua Smith, Dean, School of Education, Loyola University Maryland.
This quasi-experimental, mixed methods study examined the transfer of a well-established
pedagogical strategy, Peer-Led Team Learning (PLTL), to an online workshop environment (cPLTL) in a general chemistry course at a research university in the Midwest.
