Oncourse to Canvas Migration Support
If you have been teaching in Oncourse and are ready to make the move to Canvas, here are some resources you may find helpful:
Changes to Turnitin Canvas Integration
Canvas courses for Summer 2016 were made available Thursday, 4/7. Along with the summer course availability comes a significant change with the Turnitin (IU’s originality checking and plagiarism prevention service) integration with Canvas. Turnitin and Canvas are discontinuing support for the existing Turnitin integration.
A new external tool integration with Turnitin became available on Thursday, 4/7. The new Turnitin tool is a substantial upgrade in security over the previous version. However, there are some significant changes in the way assignments are set up and connected to the service. In particular, any assignment you import from Spring 2016 and earlier will need to be reconnected with the Turnitin service.

Join this lunch discussion to explore the innovative use of CN Post, included in all IU Canvas courses (https://www.thecn.com/IU-Canvas-Explore-CN-Post). As a complement to Canvas tools, the CN Post can be used to effectively engage students through social, global, and informal learning. User surveys show that CN Post enhances student learning experiences and outcomes in both face-to-face and online courses. These sessions will introduce innovative tips for using the CN Post and open up opportunities for informal discussions between CN Post users and newcomers interested in learning its pedagogical application. Please register before May 8th.

The Mosaic Active Learning Initiative is Indiana University’s comprehensive set of services and strategies to support faculty and students using active learning spaces.
The Mosaic Faculty Fellows program gives instructors the support they need to transform their teaching and promote engaged student learning. The program has four goals:
• Preparing faculty members to teach in active learning classrooms by introducing them to new instructional strategies and technologies
• Building a community of faculty members who collaborate to advance their own teaching and to mentor colleagues exploring new pedagogies
• Promoting evidence-based teaching by encouraging instructors to study the impacts of new spaces and instructional approaches on student learning
• Creating faculty leaders who work together to guide the development of new learning spaces across the university
The program is a one-year commitment to transforming teaching and contributing to the development of learning spaces and related teaching practices at IUPUI. To learn more about the Mosaic Faculty Fellows program and its benefits, please visit: https://uits.iu.edu/mosaic/fellows.
