To promote the professional development of associate faculty (part-time/adjunct), the Center for Teaching and Learning holds an annual Associate Faculty Teaching Forum (AFTF) at the beginning of each fall semester. The August 17, 2016, AFTF offered six sessions for associate faculty to engage in conversation with associate faculty colleagues and CTL consultants about teaching methodologies, classroom techniques and new ways of using technology in the classroom and online. This year's AFTF also included a session called the Associate Faculty Orientation for new and returning faculty who are interested in learning about resources that IUPUI makes available to support your work. All AFTF sessions were designed to encourage discussion and the sharing of ideas among new and experienced instructors. A more comprehensive Associate Faculty Orientation was held on Saturday, August 13, 2016, from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm. More information about the Associate Faculty Orientation is available here.
